MCS Win Extension - Rules Module
 
• Filters messages that meet pre-defined Rules criteria
• Rules can be applied to any type of message
• Any number of Rules can be set-up with a unique name
• Routes messages to a number of possible options including particular user, printer or telex, fax or e-mail destinations
 

The Rules Module provides the user with a versatile means of handling particular incoming and or outgoing messages. Messages that meet pre-defined Rules criteria are filtered and processed accordingly. Particular messages can automatically be sent to the printer, or re-route them to other telex, fax and e-mail destinations. Audio alerts can also be assigned to particular type of message that meets the Rules criteria.

Defining the rules
Rules can be set-up to filter incoming and or outgoing messages. Any number of Rules can be set-up. Each Rule can be uniquely named, thereby providing suitable name to identify the Rule, which maybe one of many that are set-up on the system. The Rules criteria can also be applied to the message carrier. If you have multiple carriers on your MCSWin system, select any number of carriers or all that the Rules apply to.

Setting the rules
Rules are based on the text for one or more of the following categories.
Subject - Search for specified subject.
Document - Search for specific words in the document.
Sender - This applies to the sender / receiver field in the incoming browser.
Destination - Applies to the address / person the message is being sent to. These entries will be used to filter only those messages that include matching text in the relevant category. You can add, edit and delete the Rules as and when required.
Options for filtered messages-When messages meet the set Rules criteria, there are 9 possible actions. Multiple actions can be selected for the filtered message.
Folder – Automatically files a copy of the filtered message in a specified folder in the filing cabinet.
Printer – Will automatically print the filtered message to any specified printer installed locally or on the network.
Routing – Will send a copy of the filtered message to other selected users or departments within the MCSWin system.
Worktray – Sends the filtered message to a selected user’s worktray or all users worktray within a specific department.
Reroute – Transmits the filtered message as e-mail, fax or telex to other recipients. It is also possible to reroute an incoming fax as Internet e-mail.
Export – Stores a copy of the filtered message in a selected directory. It is also possible to export documents as various file types, e.g. picture and text files.
