WHAT IS MCS EXTENSIONS?

The MCS Extensions and Shipping Extensions are individual plug-in modules that provide additional capabilities and features to the MCS application. You can pick and choose the modules most appropriate to your organization’s requirements. Modules include:

• Rules Module - The Rules Module provides the user with a versatile means of handling particular incoming and or outgoing messages. Messages that meet pre-defined Rules criteria are filtered and processed accordingly. Particular messages can automatically be sent to the printer, other users, or re-route them to other telex, fax and e-mail destinations.

• Approval Module - Allows the users to enhance the control and management of the flow of outgoing documents with greater flexibility, using a combination of user roles, document rights, action rights etc. Test Key is an extra option under the Approval Module.

• Billing Module - Provides the user with the means and capabilities to automatically cost all messages that have been sent using the system.

• OCR Module - The Optical Character Recognition Module is primary intended to convert faxes to text format so that they can be edited, with the option of sending the information as an e-mail.

• Archiving Module - Facilitates the storage of incoming and outgoing messages including status information. As well as being safe and secure, messages can be retrieved at any time using various search functions.

• Off-Line Reader Module - Provides remote users with a mirrored system of the company's main MCS system on their laptops or PC. Users can then work off-line and when they re-connect both systems are automatically synchronized and updated.

• Shipping Extensions - There are further two modules specifically designed with the maritime market in mind, in particular for shipbrokers, owners, agents and managers there are the Position List Module and the Sales and Purchase Module.
